Simulation and measurement

Simulation predicts a result from a model and input data. Measurement records a particular product under particular conditions. Missing driver or crossover data prevents a credible prediction of the full response.

Repeatable measurements state distance, angle, signal level, microphone calibration, environment and processing. A listening-position measurement includes the room; it is not the speaker response alone. Smoothing may hide narrow irregularities.
